WEEKLY KRATOM UPDATES: WE NEED YOUR VOICE!

🎉 FIRST, SOME GOOD NEWS — NORTH CAROLINA

The proposed kratom ban in North Carolina is dead for now. ✅

That did not happen by accident. It happened because advocates like you made calls, sent emails, showed up, and told lawmakers the truth: responsible consumers deserve regulation of natural kratom leaf, not prohibition. Thank you. Every message you sent mattered.

We want to be clear-eyed, though, "dead for now" is not "gone for good." Ban proposals have a habit of coming back in a new session or attached to another bill. The AKA will continue actively monitoring North Carolina and will alert you the moment anything changes. 👀

📣 TWO STATES NEED YOUR VOICE RIGHT NOW

🔴 NORTH DAKOTA — Contact representatives today

North Dakota Governor has declared a temporary ban STARTING AUGUST 5TH

Advocates in the state need to weigh in with lawmakers now, before decisions are made during a special legislative session starting in September.

Our ask is the same commonsense approach we advocate for everywhere: regulate kratom with age restrictions, labeling requirements, and product standards, and target the chemically manipulated 7-OH concentrates that do not belong in the consumer marketplace. A ban punishes responsible consumers while doing nothing about the synthetic products causing the problem.

🟠 GEORGIA — Hearing on Thursday, August 21

Georgia has a hearing scheduled for Thursday, August 21. Advocate presence and testimony make a real difference in these proceedings, legislators need to hear directly from the consumers, veterans, and working people who rely on natural kratom leaf, not just from those who want it banned.
